The current Cavalry Sword is the British Cavalry Officer’s Sword pattern of 1912. The hilt has a nickel-plated steel bowl guard decorated on the outside with a scroll design and has a sword knot slot near the pommel. 

The straight blade has a single fuller to each side to within eight inches (20.3 cm) of the sword point and is decorated with an engraved floral design. 

Members of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps and Australian Army Aviation wear the Calvalry Sword with black leather and silver fittings.

Blade: Forged stainless steel blade. It is hardened to ca. 48-55° HRC Rockwell, then well-tempered and hand-polished. Dimension of the blade is ca 890 mm long.

Guard: Stamped brass guard with engraved designs. Solid brass cap. Nickel plated.

Grip: Skin covered handle in accordance with specification DEF(AUST) 8927 wrapped with silver plated wires.

Scabbard: Standard scabbard - wood body covered with real black calf leather or optional steel tube, nickel-plated, hand-polished with 2 rings. 

Included Accessories: Protective cloth bag.
